I've been having fun in my holidays, and I've been playing with Danny's Thomas the Tank Engine set, our felt scenes, dolls and cubby houses. We've been using chalk to draw a town on the front porch cement and outside the back door, and when we're done drawing we play with our wooden vehicles - which are a train, a car, a bus and an aeroplane.
We drew a railroad, air strip, road and a few houses. I even drew flowers and trees! Can you see all those things in the picture?I've been helping Mummy cook and clean and I'm learning to be a keeper at home. Sometimes I even clean the bathroom sink for Mummy by wiping it with a towel! I also vaccum and sweep and dry the dishes for Mummy (and with Cousin Jo when she stayed with us). We've been cooking donut muffins, cheesecake with Cousin Jo, helping with the chicken schnitzel. I made Honey and Oat Muffins all by myself the other week and we ate them fast because they were yummy. I think I'm big enough to cook by myself now.
Here I am cooking and doing dishes with Cousin Jo!
And here I am doing some craft with Mummy. I had a lot of fun doing it. It is called Pergamano, and it is a craft where you copy over a picture and then when you're done you turn it over and colour on the other side. Then you can prick holes in it if you want to.

I made a bookmark with Desert Roses on it. Later I put a pale yellow ribbon in the hole at the top. I use it my Holy Bible.
In Spring I collected old lavendar flowers and crushed them up. Then after that, in Summer, I made a lavendar bag to keep it in. I made the lavendar bag with Mummy's old sewing machine. This is the first time I've used a sewing machine. Firstly I practised doing straight stitches. Then I pinned and sewed the lavendar bag.

Then we folded the top of the bag and pinned it and put the sewing machine away. I had to hand-stitch it to finish it.

We put a pretty blue ribbon in the top to hold it so the lavendar doesn't fall out. This is how it looks:
Now I'm keeping it in my drawer with my clothes to make them smell nice.In the holidays I've also been reading a book called "A Hive of Busy Bees" and it's about Don and Joyce who are children and they are visiting their Grandma and Grandpa in the summer when they notice a bee hive. Half of the chapters are about Grandma telling stories to Don and Joyce about being good children. Like one chapter is about "Bee Gentle" and another is "Bee Helpful". I am enjoying the book even though it doesn't have many pictures. I am reading it at Church meetings mostly.
What books have you been reading? And what have you been doing in the Summer?
- Miss Dolly
I got some really fun presents, like a small doll-sized china teaset,
some writing paper, stickers, Dot-to-Dot book, some special pencils, a jigsaw,
and lego.
I also got a mini peg basket so I can hang doll's clothes when I'm playing,
and a spirograph set. I got some books to read, and a "Where's Wally?" book!
I got felt boards where you can make scenes with felt people and things they have.
I got an ABC cookbook that we have been cooking with in our cooking lessons. I really like cooking!
Grandad gave me a blue wagon to ride in the yard on!
I got a lot of money for my birthday and Mummy put some of it in the bank, the other part I spent on a rose cross-stitch.
I also got a Lincraft gift card, and I want to buy something with that soon. I got a summer patchwork skirt that I would like to wear in summer.
